2007 Holiday Charity Drive in Support of Toys for Tots
| We are very excited to launch our 2007 holiday fund raising effort in support of a great cause. Toys for Tots (http://www.toysfortots.org/) was first started in 1947, when Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR, founded the |  |
| organization in Los Angeles, California. He collected 5,000 toys during the campaign before Christmas that year. The following year the United States Marine Corps adopted Toys for Tots and expanded it into a nationwide community action project. Toys for Tots objectives are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable natural resources - our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to improving communities in the future. Please join us in our support of this wonderful cause. From now through December 17th, we will be accepting donations through our specially-created avatar, There_Gifts. We will also have many themed events like The SnowFlake Ball, Take a Sleigh Ride with Staff, and the Jingle Bell Rock Dance-a-thon to raise funds for this charity. We will sell special gifts and plan to open Winter Charity Tree Park on Aurora Island. Development Lots will be auctioned off to raise money. A tree decorating contest will tie in with the Winter Charity Tree fundraiser (all funds collected will go to Toys for Tots). If you would like to help raise funds for charity, please contact _emma with your ideas. At the end of the fundraising period, we will convert all the Therebucks that have been donated to There_Gifts into US Dollars. Makena Technologies, together with the Maya Foundation (CEO Michael Wilson’s foundation) will match the community’s contribution up to $5000 US. We will make the donation to Toys for Tots on behalf of the There Community, Makena Technologies, Inc., and The Maya Foundation. To make a contribution, please follow these instructions:
