Club of the Week: Adventure Quest Club

The Adventure Quest Club has been part of There since the very early days. Questers make new friends and collaborate with other questing buddies as they puzzle over the quest of the week. Each quest is made by one of the club members and there are of various types: picture quests, puzzles, stories, trivia, adventure and more.

Each player who finishes a quest of the week is entered into a raffle for TBux prizes. Club members can also earn questing credit to advance up the Adventure Quest ladder. Each rank awards prizes including Adventure Quest clothes and questing momentos. Five quests completed earns the first rank of Porter and an Adventure Quest safari shirt. Developer Item Donations for the Holiday Charity Drive

We recently kicked off this year's holiday charity drive in support of Child's Play, and our fundraising effort will continue through December 19th with a series of special events and donation opportunities. Several of our members have asked if they can help by donating specially-created developer items for us to auction for the cause. We appreciate the support and would be happy to accept contributions of this nature.   If you would like to donate a developer item that you have created, to be auctioned by There_Gifts for the charity drive, here are the guidelines: 1. The item must adhere to the There.com developer submission guidelines and be an original work you have created.  2. Please send the appropriate files, along with detailed instructions about how to submit them, to community@thereinc.com. The items will then be submitted through the There_Gifts avatar and sold in a special auction. All proceeds from the auction sales will go to Child's Play.  <or> If you would like to submit the item yourself, you can contact _Emma or Vash_Community from the There Community Team and give them the submissions code.  All submissions must be received by the community team by no later than Tuesday, December 9th. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.

Adopt a Tree to Benefit Child's Play Charity

Adopt a virtual tree for the 2008 winter holiday season. All proceeds will go to Child's Play. Check out the fresh crop of newly planted trees at the East Charity Tree Park on Aurora Island.  Decorate your donations for a good cause and adopt a Charity Tree today!

East Charity Tree Park was recently added after the successful adoption of 44 charity trees in the West Charity Tree Park. Members who missed out on the first round of charity trees have a second chance to show their holiday spirit by adopting a tree to help fund the purchase of toys and games for children in hospitals around the world.

2008 Holiday Charity Drive in Support of Child's Play

We are very excited to launch our 2008 holiday fundraising effort in support of a great cause. Child's Play, first organized in 2003, is a game-industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of sick children in children's hospitals across North America and around the globe.  We hope you will join us in our support of this very worthwhile cause.

From now through December 19th, we will be accepting donations through our specially-created avatar, There_Gifts. We will also have many special events like a winter carnival and a formal holiday ball to raise funds for this charity. Be sure to keep an eye on this web site in the coming days for a finalized schedule of events, as well as announcements about special auctions and unique donation opportunities. At the end of the fundraising period, we will convert all the Therebucks that have been donated to There_Gifts into US Dollars. To make a contribution directly to There_Gifts, please follow these instructions: Inside the There client, from the toolbar, select ‘My Things > Therebucks > Give’ Type in the amount of your contribution in Therebucks and select ‘Give’ A window will pop-up and ask you to choose the avatar to whom you would like to give the Therebucks. Select ‘Type In’, enter There_Gifts and select ‘OK’. A window will pop up asking you to confirm the give/transaction, select ‘Yes’ The system will then send your Therebucks contribution to There_Gifts, the special avatar we have created to facilitate this effort.

University of There Hot Turkey Trot

Is your mind dreaming of turkey? Roasted turkey, deep-fried turkey, or leftover turkey, perhaps? Get yourself even further in the mood at the UoT Hot Turkey Trot this Saturday, November 22nd, at 8pm Pacific Time. We'll find some old "fox trot" music and reminisce about the good times we've had.
