MissMEM: Is this the only home you own, and if so do you plan on acquiring anymore? Xx_Marie_xX: Xx_Kiva_xX and I own the 100 acre hood of Stalward Village Islands, so we also own several of the properties there. And yes, all are decorated in the medieval theme. MissMEM: What was your inspiration for decorating your home? Xx_Marie_xX: The love of attending RL Renaissance Fairs was our first inspiration. Kiva and I were wed at a Ren Faire, so it's in our beings to be Rennie no matter where we are! And DavyRocket's one of a kind castle just begs for that type of attention. We're extremely fortunate to have friends around us, also living in Stalward Village, that enjoy this atmosphere as much as we do. MissMEM: Do you have a favorite place in your house? If so, where and why? Xx_Marie_xX: Oh golly, I have several favorite places. I like the atmosphere when we're Dancin' in the Dungeon (a club I'm a leader of). I like the quaint pretty Lady's Tower. I like the kick back feeling of the Lord's Tower. I like it when people gasp as they enter the Great Hall. I like the home-like feeling of the royal living quarters and the formal atmosphere of the Throne Room. I guess the entire castle is my favorite place! MissMEM: What words of wisdom would you offer to new members who are looking to find their own home in There? Xx_Marie_xX: Start smaller than a 29 drop castle! Biggest advice TRY IT before you buy it. And if you aren't able to TRY IT, ask! MissMEM: Do you hold parties/events often at your place? If so, what sort of gatherings are they? Anything coming up you'd like to invite the general public to? Xx_Marie_xX: We hold Dancin' in the Dungeon once or twice a month. We're moving it topside (on the roof) for a Fall Formal on Wed, Nov. 11th. And we'll be having a one year THERE wedding anniversary party for Kiva and myself on Dec. 7th. I hope to have another Dancin' in the Dungeon between those two events. We've also held other people's weddings and wedding receptions at the castle. MissMEM: And finally, what are your favorite items in your home? Xx_Marie_xX: My most favorite items were those made esp. for us, the throne by DavyRocket and the dining room table by rick6485 and the old wood stockade by DavyRocket. The more "common" items are the paintings, "God Speed", "My Champion" and "I dub Thee!" And of course, our pet, Thirsty Bear (Bear Skin Rug - Grizzly). To see the photo album, click here. | ||||
