Thanks to the time, participation, and wonderful generosity of There's community members, we had another very successful fundraising season this year. More than 6 million Therebucks were collected on behalf of The UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR!
The total in U.S. Dollars equaled $3,354.35. The Maya Foundation will match the community's generous contribution, bringing the total donation to $6,708.70!
Thanks so much to everyone who donated. We'd also like to express a special thank you to everyone who hosted fundraising events, publicized the charity drive, donated items for auction or created new items for the occasion. Your time and participation are sincerely appreciated.

Christmas has been saved! SantaClaus emerged victorious over the "Bah Humbugs" of MrScrooge, aided by celebrity squares Alex, Banshee_Kate, BSquared, Mackie, Spiritus, TheChaz, There_RealEstate, Vash_Community, and ZachC.
Thereywood for Charity was held on December 16th and raised an amazing 270,000T for the holiday fundraising drive in support of The UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR! SantaClaus managed a bit of Christmas magic and beat MrScrooge two games to one in what some are calling the holiday charity event of the season.
A great time with much holiday cheer and laughter was experienced by all. Special thanks to Buffy_Summers for providing the commemorative Thereywood Charity t-shirts that were gifted to all the attendees.

Winter weather has arrived and our Festival of Lights celebration is in full swing. The Greeters and Island Guides have organized a fun-filled Winter Carnival at Santa's Workshop and everyone is invited! Multiple events are scheduled this Saturday, Sunday and Monday, December 12th - 14th.
Many activities are planned, including Find the Hidden Presents, Eye Spy Holiday Fun, Wheel of Holiday Fortune, a dreidel game, and perhaps a card game or two. If you like to scout around as you play, check out the Quest for the Lost Elf, Rocking Around the Christmas Tree Dance Contest, Screen Shot Contest, and the "Find the Real Rudolph" game. If you're more the outdoor type, there will be sleigh rides and a paintball fight among the snowmen.
There will also be a booth with information about UNHCR (this year's holiday charity recipient), as well as tip jars set out to collect donations at your convenience. We hope you'll come out this weekend to play and show your support for a great cause. Sign up today!
Note: The Winter Carnival with Staff will have an entrance fee of 2500T and all proceeds will go toward our holiday charity drive. Space is limited and entry is on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you leave the zone, you will have to pay to re-enter.
(All prizes at the Winter Carnival will be awarded and reset at the end of each event, with the exception of the Screen Shot contest, which will be awarded after all the carnival events.)
