UoT Adventures in Education

Visit the University of There for Adventures in Education this Saturday, February 13th. It promises to be a day of exciting events and activities. Come and enjoy a fun and informative Saturday. We hope to see you There!

It's Not Too Late to Join a Class at the UoT

The spring semester is underway at the University of There. If you'd like to get involved, there's still time! Classes have just started in the subjects of Style, Paint and Design.  You can still join by contacting TnKitten through Theremail.

If you want to learn how to write good fiction and how to get published, you will definitely want to join the Creative Writing class by author Loriendil. This is a serious "real world" class and at least one student has already been successful at getting published. Please contact Loriendil through Theremail.   Check the registrar's desk at UoT Campus Center for other classes and instructors.   Other activities at the UoT include a themed dance every Saturday at the Student Union on campus. Everyone is also invited to attend the February Adventures in Education on Saturday, February 13th. Events will be posted at the Campus Center.

Unicrystal Designs University Spring Semester

The following was submitted by Unicrystal, club leader of the UDU: The Unicrystal Designs University is proud to announce the beginning of the Spring semester of classes. Basic Previewer and Basic Stylemaker classes will be taught by renowned designer Unicrystal. The Basic Previewer class will start on Tuesday, January 19th at 5pm Pacific. The Basic Stylemaker class will start on Friday, January 22nd at 5pm Pacific. Any new students who plan to attend should join the UDU Student Union group for recurring class invites.

January Buggy Racing Hotsheet

Buggy drivers are revving up those engines and heating up the winter chill! Lots of cool stuff is going in There for buggy racers, including some brand new competitions and changes in some of the old ones.

Ovni, long-time supporter of those who like to work on lap times, has a new event all his own, Best Lappers 2010! His events will occur at Seaview and Dry Wind tracks. Points are awarded to the best lap times on the daily tracks, and a buggy will be awarded to the best lapper each month. At the end of December 2010, a limited-edition buggy will be awarded to his best lappers of the year. Sign up for events at Dry Wind or Seaview and check out the There Racing forum for more details.

Take the Thereian Feud Survey!

On your marks! Let's start the Thereian Feud! Survey says this event is going to be a blast! Join the hosts of Thereywood Squares for the inaugural running of the Thereian Feud during January's Lights, Camera, There! theme. You won't want to miss this special event.

You can get in on the fun ahead of time by taking this special survey. These questions will be part of the game, and just like on the Family Feud television show, the contestants will try to guess the top answers. Be a part of the survey audience today, and then plan to join the main event on January 28th!

University of There Spring Semester Starting Soon

The University of There is preparing to launch their 2010 Spring Semester this month. The classes offer many great opportunities to learn something new from the excellent instructors, from writing to 3D modeling and so much more!

The Spring Semester begins January 18th and include classes such as New Design and Painting by TnKitten, Archaeology by Kitte, Beginning Geneology by June_UruTMP, and Fiction Writing by published author Loriendil.  Want to check it out ahead of time? Everyone is invited to attend the Open House this Saturday, January 9th, from 6pm - 7pm Pacific. You can meet the instructors and sign up for classes! This Saturday is also the date of the UoT's monthly Adventures in Education! Come on out for an evening of exciting events and activities. The schedule is as follows (all times are Pacific):

*North Motu Voyage of Rediscovery Flotilla by Nema - 5pm *Campus Open House – Meet the instructors and sign up! Starts at 6pm *Open Mike at UOTPAC by Stungthumbz - 7pm. *Dance at the Student Center by Kitte - 8pm.

Thereywood For Charity Update!

Christmas has been saved! SantaClaus emerged victorious over the "Bah Humbugs" of MrScrooge, aided by celebrity squares Alex, Banshee_Kate, BSquared, Mackie, Spiritus, TheChaz, There_RealEstate, Vash_Community, and ZachC.

Thereywood for Charity was held on December 16th and raised an amazing 270,000T for the holiday fundraising drive in support of The UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR! SantaClaus managed a bit of Christmas magic and beat MrScrooge two games to one in what some are calling the holiday charity event of the season.    A great time with much holiday cheer and laughter was experienced by all. Special thanks to Buffy_Summers for providing the commemorative Thereywood Charity t-shirts that were gifted to all the attendees.   Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in Thereywood for Charity.  If you missed the fun or would like to relive this terrific event, you can view the episode here on YouTube.
