Are You Seeing Stars?

We have added something new to our nametags! You might have noticed that many of the There employees are now sporting the There logo alongside their names. But you might also be seeing stars. The gold stars belong to our stellar team of volunteer welcomers, the Island Guides. Hopefully, the icons will assist new members in identifying sources of help and information.

Not all Guides have opted-in to have a star by their names. Some just prefer to be identified by an Island Guide shirt, which can be changed when they wish to be in world for their own enjoyment. How does one become an Island Guide? Read on to find out.

New Member Travel Center

The Island Guides and Greeters offer many events that bring new members to Fisher Island. But what happens after the tours and parties? Where do you go when the vehicles are parked and the paintguns are empty? Just cross the bridge to the Fisher Island Travel Center.

Travel Center on Fisher Island

The travel center signs point to exotic ports in There such as Tyr, the Mushroom Forest, Egypt and Saja, just to name a few. In addition, a sign provides links to zones that cater to new members, where you can borrow vehicles, paintguns, and find a wealth of information.

Before departing from Fisher, new members can also get a 4-hour loaner of a hoverboat or hoverpack to use in their travels. Welcome to There, and have a great time exploring!

JoyofLife and Obscure

JoyofLife and Obscure have a great loaners zone at Aeris on Motu Motu.  New members can try out unique vehicles and paintguns there.  Plus, they can get questions answered by JoyofLife and her cohosts.

Finding Activities in There

You are just a click away from fun things in There! When you select Activities > Find Activities, you'll see a page similar to the one below. You can browse all the events scheduled for the day or week, or you can select event categories such as exploring, sports, games, and shows. Take a fast look at events you have been invited to or a list of ones you are hosting.

What is Zona Island?

Zona Island is currently the only spot where new members land in There, and that very quality has given it other characteristics as well. It is a stop on the BABS boat tours and a great place to meet and welcome new members. Perhaps because of these aspects, and because of the large number of new arrivals each day, Zona often shows up as the most populated spot in There.

Welcoming New Members

I remember the first time I walked into our local community center when I was a kid. Everything was a big unknown, and my head was filled with a million questions. Who are these people? What can I do here? I see something interesting, will someone show me how to do that? Perhaps the biggest question of all was, "Do I fit in?"
