University of There Events this Week

Adventures in Education This Saturday, September 13th, UoT kicks off their Fall 2008 Semester with Campus Tours and Meet the Faculty from 4pm til 5pm Pacific. The events will be followed by an air show "Pirate Antics" from 5pm to 6pm Pacific at the School of Flight on campus.

Then finally, a tour of Pirate Adventures from 6pm to 7pm.  All are welcome. Students, it is time to sign up for classes.

Ahoy Mateys Booty Ball Three bells all's well for the UoT Adventures in Education on Saturday, then it's 'Ahoy Mateys Booty Ball' at the UoT Student Center at 7pm Pacific where all pirates and wenches and, ya, buccanners can find a treasurer trove of music and dance. Take a chance to see how the pirates celebrate, but argh... keep your grimy mitts off our UoT pirate booty bundle. Most dances are safe, but ours isn't. Come and see for yourself. You'll have a 'blasting' good time!

University of There Fall Semester Kickoff

Next Saturday the 13th of September will mark the kickoff for the Fall Semester at the University of There. This will include a performance by the UoT School of Flight, Campus Tours, and a chance to meet the faculty.

Francis_7's Gmax Bootcamp

Do you dream of becoming a developer? Ever have 3-D design envy? Francis_7 is offering a Gmax Bootcamp for all Thereians interested in learning how to use this software. Classes will be held through the University of There, at the There Museum of History. He'll start with the basics: how to set up Gmax on your machine, and will progress to modeling and textures. Check out the list of classes below and sign up now to reserve your spot.

Congratulations, UoT Class of 2008 Graduates

The University of There had their most recent formal graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 31st. Makena's own CEO, Michael Wilson, was on hand as the commencement speaker. There were 96 graduates in total this year, and 8 of those were honor graduates. Wow!

Each graduate attended classes between Fall 2007 and Spring 2008. For those not familiar with the program, UoT teaches real-life skills that can benefit Thereians in their daily lives and careers. Classes include software learning sessions like G-Max, Stylemaker, PaintShop Pro, and Corel, as well as There-specific topics like School of Flight. We're looking forward to seeing how this crop of diploma-carriers puts these skills to use in There. Want to take or teach classes in a virtual learning environment? There will be a summer camp for those interested in being instructors, and interested parties can contact Stungthumbz for details. The Fall 2008 semester begins in September.

UoT Commencement Ceremony

The annual UoT commencement will he held on the main campus, Saturday May 31st from 4pm to 5pm Pacific time. The event will be followed by a dance in the Student Center from 5pm to 6pm. Students should contact their instructors to be sure they are on the graduation list.

The day before the commencement the School of Design will hold a fashion show for students to present their creations from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Summer school classes will be scheduled by instructors at the request of 5 or more students per class. The list of instructors will be posted at the Registrar's office on campus.

UoT Celebrates Earth Day

Come and visit the San Francisco State University Environmental Outpost at UOT on 21 and 22 April. ProfSami and her students will be running a special college class project in There.

Try the quest, meet the students and while you're at it visit the OooZoo just up the hill. Several interesting events are planned for Monday and Tuesday so check it out.

6pm - 7pm Flying Tour of Aurora Island starts at the UOT School of Flight hosted by Nema 7pm - 8pm Mysteries of Ancient Egypt with special Tour starts at Main Campus hosted by Stungthumbz

Tour the University of There

On Thursday, March 13th there will be four, half hour tours of the University of There, starting at 2:30pm Pacific time. Your host will be Stungthumbz, Dean of UoT. The University of There provides a broad spectrum of classes.

Subjects available to members range from tools and techniques for 3D design and Paint Shop Pro by professional designers, through Indian legends (taught by a member of the Dakota Sioux) to household budgeting and even virtual dog training. There is special training available and there are facilities reserved for the physically challenged at a UOT campus annex. The University operates their own campus shoutcast radio called KUOT. Accredited institutions also use UoT for classes, including Oregon State University, Stanford University, and San Francisco State University. Unicrystal Designs Spring Fashion Show: Sponsored by UoT

Unicrystal Designs is announcing the new rescheduled Spring Fashion Show. Come and see the designs created by Unicrystal's UoT design students and the upcoming Spring Fashion Show. You won't want to miss the debut of some hot, fun Spring fashions for both men and women, including some new formal wear designs. In addition to Unicrystal items, you can also see the work of some new designers.
